4K resolution video clarity
The 8mp image sensor at the core of the LNB8963 bullet security camera is capable of recording a 4K pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 15 frames-per-second (FPS). This resolution will deliver extremely detailed images and allow for greater digital zooms so you can see further into the distance. This camera also uses industry leading H.265 compression, which offers significant bandwidth and video storage capacity over older compression technologies.
The days of choppy and blurry security footage are over. This motorized LNB8963 bullet camera has a cutting edge 8.51 MP image sensor at its core, which is capable of recording crystal clear and incredibly detailed 4K video. Ultimately, this high resolution will provide you with the best chance to capture usable evidence should an incident ever occur.
4K Video Resolution?
4K resolution is based on the amount of horizontal pixels the camera’s image sensor has on it. In order to be considered 4K, there must be approximately 4000 horizontal pixels. This motorized 4k bullet security camera, in particular, can record at a pixel ratio of 3840 (horizontal) x 2160 (vertical). That is about 4× the amount of pixels that a 1080p HD resolution camera has. A further advantage of a 4K security camera is that the higher amount of pixels allows for much better digital zooms. So if you spot something in your footage that you need to zoom in on, specific details, such as facial features or license plate digits, will remain visible for longer as you zoom in further and further into the image.
Sony Exmor R CMOS Sensor
The amazing video performance of this security camera is thanks to the incredibly sophisticated Sony Exmor R™ image sensor at its core. This top-of-the-line image sensor is primarily used to convert the analog video signal to digital. It also shields the video from excessive grain by passing the video data through an analog noise filter before conversion and a digital reduction after.
Back Illuminated Pixel Technology
The Sony Exmore R sensor has changed the way in which image sensors capture light energy. Up until now, light energy (photons) would have to travel through a layer of metal wiring and transistors before reaching the image sensor’s light sensitive area (photo-diode). These obstructions would diminish the amount of light that is ultimately captured by the sensor. This is called a front illumintaed image sensor. That is not the case with this security camera’s image sensor, which uses back illuminated pixel technology. With this type of sensor, the light no longer has to pass through that layer of wiring, drastically improving the total amount of light captured. This vastly enhances low-light performance and results in less digital noise to keep your security footage clean and clear.
A higher shutter speed provides the least amount of motion blur. A high shutter speed, however, needs a lot of light, so finding the right balance between these two settings can be difficult. Thankfully, this camera’s electronic shutter will automatically figure this out for you. An electronic shutter, as opposed to a mechanical shutter, does not rapidly open and shut with every picture (or frame). Instead, the image sensor accumulates light for a set amount of time (anywhere between 1/3 of a second to 1/100000 of a second), then resets (like the shutter closing) and gets ready for the next frame.
4K television / monitor not required
It is important to note that this 4K security camera does not require a 4K television or monitor for use. The foremost benefit of using this camera is that the additional resolution will be utilized when necessary. So if an incident does occur, it will offer the best chance to digitally zoom in on people and objects to capture useful evidence (such as distinct facial features or license plate numbers).
Active Mechanical IR Cut Filter
You can hear your camera make a noticeable click as night turns to day. This is the Active Mechanical Lens Filter (otherwise known as the IR Cut Filter) engaging. This filter prevents UV and infrared rays from entering the lens during the day. Without it, these rays would cause a variety of distortions and discoloration to the video. It then disengages as natural light levels fade, allowing the infrared light back in so the camera’s night vision can start to work.
4x Optical Zoom Security Camera
This IP security camera includes a unique zoom lens, otherwise known as a motorized varifocal lens, that enables remote customization of your viewing area (and focus). Focus on a small area in astonishing detail thanks to the 4× optical zoom or survey a larger scene for maximum coverage. These adjustments can be easily made with your Lorex NVR or through our free mobile apps.
H.265 Compression – HEVC High efficiency video codec
Keep the 4K footage without the 4K file sizes with High Efficiency Video Compression (HEVC) compression technology. Also known as H.265 or MPEG-H Part 2, this feature will compress video file sizes up to 40% more than the previous video compression technology without any noticable difference in quality. When combined with one of our 4K security recorders that are capable of receiving this type of encoding, you can expect smaller file sizes, longer record times, and higher remote viewing video quality without large data transfers.
Easy PoE installation
Your LNB8963 motorized security camera only needs a single Cat5e ethernet cable to connect it to a compatible NVR. This cable provides video transmission, power to the camera, a stable network connection, and installation flexibility up to 300ft.
Enhanced Security Monitoring with HDR
Your LNB8963 uses HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology that works to ensure you capture the most important details, regardless of lighting conditions. Dynamic range is measured as the difference between the brightest point and the darkest point of the video. HDR technology uses this difference to automatically adjust the picture’s brightness, resulting in optimized, highly-detailed security video.
Enhanced Clarity in Low-Light Situations
Your LNB8963 uses DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) technology to filter out noise from low-light settings as well any noise caused by motion. By eliminating graininess, your camera provides a cleaner, more accurate image with better clarity, sharpness, and improved motion detection, enhancing your HD experience even in the dark! Not only does DNR reduce noise, but it reduces video file sizes as well, giving you greater disc space for storage.
All-weather security camera
Your LNB8963 is rated IP66. This ensures safe outdoor installations. Furious winds, torrential downpours, and furious snowstorms are no match for this rugged security camera. It will even continue to operate in freezing climates as low as -22°F / -30°C. So go ahead and place this security camera where you need it most. Its heavy duty metal housing is well equipped to withstand both the elements and vandalism.
