Lorex 8 Channel 4K resolution home security system, featuring 6 8MP 4K LNB8973BW Varifocal Motorized Bullet Cameras
Know that your property is secure while you’re there and while you’re away with this Nocturnal security camera system from Lorex. This system includes six powerful Nocturnal security cameras and a powerful eight-channel Network Video Recorder (NVR). Along with 4K recording resolution, the longest night vision ranges available, and extreme weather performance, your security cameras include motorized zoom lenses that allow you to adjust the camera’s field of view to suit your monitoring needs. These features, plus two open channels on the NVR, makes this an incredibly versatile security system perfect for any type of property.
4K security cameras
Both sets of Nocturnal security cameras contain an 8.51 MP image sensor that is capable of recording 4K resolution video. This sensor will provide you with exceptionally sharp video that will give you the best chance to capture the distinct details (such as facial features or license plate digits) that you need from a security camera.
4K Vs. 1080P Resolution
The difference between a 1080p security camera and a 4K security camera is quite large. A 1080p security camera, for example, records at a pixel ratio of 1920 × 1080 – a total of 2,073,600 pixels. A 4K security camera, on the other hand, records at a pixel ratio 3840 × 2160 – a total of 8,294,400 pixels. That’s an additional 6,220,800 pixels! Ultimately, this higher pixel count results in a much higher quality of video, with sharp definitive lines that distinctly outline every object and feature. It also allows for better digital zooms when you need to zoom into your footage. So specific details will remain legible for longer and give you a better chance of capturing the details you need.
Backlit Sony Exmor R™ CMOS sensor
The incredibly sophisticated Sony Exmor R™ image sensor within your cameras uses back illuminated pixel technology for exceptional low-light performance. It also shields the video from noise / grain as it coverts the video signal from analog to digital.
4x Optical zoom Security Cameras
The Nocturnal bullet security cameras come with a unique zoom lens. Otherwise known as a motorized varifocal lens, this type of lens enables remote customization of your field of view (and focus). This means that you can either focus on a small area in astonishing detail thanks to the 4× optical zoom or survey a larger scene for maximum coverage. These adjustments can be easily made with your NVR or through our free mobile apps.
Full-color video, even at night
With most security cameras there is usually an automatic shift from full color to black and white when lighting conditions change at night. This is not the case for the Lorex LNE8950 and LNB8973 security camera. It features our revolutionary Color Night Vision™ (CNV) technology. This feature will:
- Produce full-color video, even in low-light conditions*
- Provide a further level of detail (the color of clothes or cars, for example)
- Add increased contrast for easier detection and recognition of people and objects
*Please note that ambient lighting is needed for full-color night vision. The image will typically switch to black and white infrared in total darkness to ensure maximum quality night vision.
PoE technology for simple plug-and-play installation
Lorex is proud to offer security systems that feature an easy installation process. This 4K security camera system is no exception. Power-over-ethernet (PoE) technology is an all-in-one solution that cuts cost and installation time. A single cable run between your NVR and each IP camera provides both power and video transmission up to 300 feet / 91m.
Remote viewing from your mobile with Lorex Home
This system is designed for use with our innovative, hassle-free Lorex Home™ app. With Lorex Home, you can quickly and easily view your security system remotely through your smartphone or tablet. You can also program the app to send you motion-activated push notifications and email alerts with screenshot attachments straight to your phone to keep you connected to your property at all times. Simply download the free app, scan the QR code on the DVR and your cameras will appear for you to monitor (or review footage).
H.265 HEVC Compression
Both sets of cameras and the NVR included here use HEVC compression technology. HEVC stands for High Efficiency Video Compression (also known as H.265 or MPEG-H Part 2), and is used to compress video file sizes without any noticeable difference in quality. This lets you keep the 4K footage without the 4K file sizes. It will also let you watch the highest quality security footage while you are away from your home or business without large data transfers.
Regional Motion Zones
Create up to four custom motion zones with each camera. These zones can be programmed to adjust both the sensitivity (the amount of movement required to register that movement) and threshold (how much movement is required before creating a motion “event”) for motion detection in different areas of the camera’s field of view. So more important areas, like a door, can be set to record or create a motion event at the slightest movement, while a tree or bush would need a lot more movement to set off the motion detection.
Rugged weatherproof & vandal resistant security cameras
Manufactured with an IP67 weatherproof rating, the security cameras in this system are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. Whether in a torrential downpour or a furious snowstorm, your security cameras can persevere. Heavy-duty (yet durable) metal housings and vandal resistant designs make these security cameras a dependable choice for year-round security that never stops working.
